Latest in Technology

You will be amazed! Over the years, the field of dentistry has seen many innovations and advances. Dr. Bohnert, Dr. Geiger and Dr. Jones regularly attend continuing education classes to investigate the latest in clinical and technological dentistry. Below are just a few examples of the state-of-the-art tools we use to improve our patient’s dental experience as well as their oral health.

Air Abrasion

Air abrasion replaces our traditional dental drill. This technology uses a stream of compressed air and tiny abrasive particles to comfortably and efficiently remove decay and prepare teeth for restoration. This conservative treatment is so gentle that most patients don’t require anesthesia. With air abrasion, the vibration, pain, heat, smell, and noise associated with the dental drill are history.

Sterilization Center

Nothing is more important than your safety, and we want you to have complete peace of mind when you visit our office. That’s why our team at Southeast Family Dental adheres to rigorous sterilization procedures. You’ll notice our facemasks and gloves, as well as the protective covers on equipment and instruments.

To ensure your protection, all of our sterilization procedures meet or exceed OSHA and the American Dental Association’s guidelines. We use the most advanced sterilization systems available, and each member of our team is fully trained in these state-of-the-art practices.

Intraoral Cameras

Our tiny intraoral camera projects images from inside your mouth to a monitor in your treatment room. These highly detailed photos let Dr. Bohnert, Dr. Geiger and Dr. Jones assess your oral health and show you where your smile needs work. This technology not only helps Dr. Bohnert, Dr. Geiger and Dr. Jones diagnose problems, it helps patients become partners in treatment planning.

Digital X-rays

Digital X-rays emit 80% less radiation than traditional radiography. They provide Dr. Bohnert, Dr. Geiger and Dr. Jones with the most modern, comprehensive imagery available so that they can accurately assess, diagnose, and recommend treatments. Digital X-rays are also better for the environment because they require no hazardous photographic developing chemicals.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers have revolutionized dentistry! They provide safe, fast, efficient care for a variety of dental procedures, including gum recontouring, periodontal therapy, crown lengthening, cavity detection, and more. Used for surgical procedures instead of a scalpel, lasers seal as they go. So there’s no need for stitches and bleeding is minimal. Most patients don’t require anesthesia with laser surgery, and healing time is quicker than with traditional surgical methods.

Use It or Lose It!

Calendar December 31
Most insurance companies have a benefit deadline of December 31, and this means that any of your unused benefits don’t roll over into the new year. So, if your insurance plan will pay for roughly $1,500 of treatments each calendar year, and you haven’t used this amount by the end of the year, you lose it. Read more about this

Don't wait to schedule your appointments until the last few weeks in December. Call Southeast Family Dental TODAY at 317.359.8000 to schedule your appointment.
