Invisalign® Clear Aligners
When you begin Invisalign® treatment, our dental team will provide care instructions to help ensure optimal treatment results and maintain their clarity and effectiveness.
Daily Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean your aligners each morning and evening using lukewarm water and a soft-bristled toothbrush. Avoid hot water, which can warp the aligners, and harsh cleaning solutions that might damage the material. For best results, brush and floss your teeth before reinserting your aligners to prevent trapping food particles.
Proper Handling and Storage
Always remove your aligners before eating and drinking anything except water. Store them in their protective case to prevent damage or loss when not in use.
When removing your aligners, handle them carefully and avoid excessive bending or twisting. Keep them away from heat sources, including hot cars or sunny windowsills, as this can affect their shape and compromise your treatment progress.
Ensure Treatment Success
Wear your aligners for 20–22 hours daily to stay on track with your treatment plan. If you notice any calcium buildup or discoloration, ask our team about specialized cleaning solutions. Treatment times with Invisalign vary by patient and depend on the complexity of their orthodontic needs. Invisalign treatment may last several months or longer than 2 years, with 18 months being typical.

How Invisalign Clear Aligners Work
Invisalign is a system of clear aligners worn over the teeth. You wear the first aligners for approximately two weeks before moving on to the next. Over the course of the treatment, you’ll notice your teeth moving into straighter positions.
At the end of treatment, we fit you with a custom retainer to prevent orthodontic relapse.
